The Camel fair at Bikaner, Rajasthan is famous all over India. For decades people have visited this colorful and lively festival. This camel fair is extremely popular for its camel races, folk dance performances, fire dances, fire works and other interesting activities. This festival is held every year in Bikaner during the month of January. The event is organized by the Department of Tourism, Art and Culture, Rajasthan, annually. The festival begins with a camel procession; these camels are especially decorated and bedecked with jewelry and decorative cloth with intricate gold work and embroidery. This procession forms a picturesque backdrop against the Junagarh fort, Bikaner. The main attractions of this fair are the tug-of-war games, acrobatics and of course the camel races.
