Held In the Month Of Jan-Feb it is one of the most popular of all festivals it is a journey into the heart of the desert,the golden city of Jaisalmer that has a charm of its own. A true show on the sands which attracts even the much traveled visitor.

The desert festival is held in Jaisalmer, Rajasthan in the month of February every year. This desert festival is known for its snake charmers, puppeteers, acrobats and folk performers who do rapid trade. Camels are a special attraction at this fair. Men from the nearby villages in Jaisalmer, Rajasthan, come dressed in colorful attires with decorative turbans, astride their camels, to participate in the camel dances, camel acrobatics and other competitions. The important activities at the fair include camel polo, tug of war, tourist dances and turban tying competitions. The Mr. Desert competition that is focused around the length of moustaches of the village men is one of the prime attractions of this fair.
