Rajasthan Festivals
The
Elephant festival is held in Jaipur, Rajasthan in the month of March-April every
year. This festival is held to celebrate the festival of Holi. Elephants are
an important attraction at this fair. This festival begins with a procession
of jeweled and bedecked elephants, horses and folk dances. There are several
elephant activities, like elephant races, tug of war in between, an elephant
on one side and 19 men and women on the other side. The most attractive activity
that takes place in this fair is the playing of Holi from elephant backs. The
Jaipur Chaugan Stadium is the venue where elephants parade gracefully in rows.
